Cricket cages. Why buy it or their ingrediants when you can get them on your own the fun way, also LIKE A MAN!!! 
I’m back! And what’s this!? NEW FESTIVAL REWARDS?!? ZOMGZ!! Yeah, I’ve allways loved the summer festival, goldfishing ftw. Until I realised those funky new cages that were mentioned, were actually partially obtainable in goldfish scooping!
Here’s the synth:

So here’s what I did:
OMG GOLDFISHINGZ:
I got 113 points in 20 minutes. Got 2 crickets (only need one for the synth) out of a possible 5.
So far so good! 1/5 ingrediants in the recipe done!
Then… CAPOW I BOUGHT SOME FIELD TUNICAS AND STUFF! (caps ftw)
Yeah I went logging in Caedarva Mire to get the dogwood log (need dogwood lumber but that’s 10k now lol. Screw that). I’d never done logging before and didn’t know what to expect. I also bought two stacks of hachets before I went there, costing me 12,000 gil in total. There is also a 3% drop of an 80k log! I was hoping to go after that as well, of course!
I found a logging point just outside the imp camp party area for level 70s and logged it. I got some log called lauan log. D: Fail. That was only 500 gil… But hey I still had 24/24 hachets! Free stuff, don’t reject it; gil is gil! The logging point appeared to stay there so I logged it again and I got some almonds, again… was still there so logged again and got some other kind of nuts, worthless amount of gil so I dropped those! Before I realised the logging point had moved, I was under attack by an imp! Oh noes! I got to the staging point doors again, healed and went back!

Anyway I didn’t take many pictures of logging from there on, as it was dangerous, with all the true sight imps around and stuff.
After a while of doing runs around the whole zone… I started to realise… “WHERE’S THE FREAKIN’ LOGGING POINT D:” I asked that on my new LS called Everglow. They rock. Luckily, someone knew why…!

The logging points…
Split zones!?
Yeah… Not only are they hard enough to log with true sight mobs around, but after 4-6 logging points you get things from, they move to the other Caedarva Mire zone… Making you warp back to whitegate then taking the portal to dvucca isle staging point. I was, however… Thinking:.. “Ha! This half of the zone will be much easier to do! There isn’t any true sight mobs. this will be cake.” So I ran around… Little to my knowlage that one/two of the logging points I needed to get were surrounded by 6 sight AND sound mobs, AND A FREAKING IMP. WAT. To make it even worse, THE LOGGING POINT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL OF THEM! /sigh…
So there I was, standing there… Waiting for all the mobs to move out the way and not look in the direction of the logging point. They all slowly started to drift away from the point fearing my logging skillz. There was only the imp and and a weird orcy thing left looking at the point. The imp turned. I concentrated on the orc thing. It moved, it was looking half at the point and the other direction while walking… I was actually saying: “Come on… No. Don’t you turn this way you freak!”. It turned towards my direction. I was just like: -.- when it just turned to the other direction just before it stopped. I was shouting “YES! MY LOG! MEIN LOGGEN!” (not really lol, what do you take me for!?). I logged.
Once. ALMONDS! OMG PISS OFF WITH THE NUTS WILL YA!?!
Twice. “Nothing to be logged here”
Thrice. “Nothing to be logged here”
Frice. “Nothing to be logged here”
THE THITH TIME COME ON LOG SOMETHING PLEASE BEFORE THAT IMP AND THING TURNS AROUND!
Just as I finished that last logging, the thing and the imp turned at the same time (<.<…) and came towards my direction, so I ran to the side (the thing people never do in films when they're being chased) and got to safety *just* in time, I swear if I was a second more late getting out of there I would've been imp dinner.
Dogwood log. Yay. At least it was worth the risk lol. At this time, I had allready got 6 of these logs from the other half of the zone, I don't know why I didn't stop when I got one or two. I guess I wanted to make GIL. 10k each for dogwood lumber = Yes, please. I was aiming for the 80k log after I got all those dogwoods, that would have made my day if it dropped… But it didn't.. :'(
In the end, from the start of logging it was 2-3 hours I spent logging and I got:
8 Dogwood logs (2.5k each but 10k for lumber sells ultra fast due to event cages)
5 Ebony logs (2k each, sells v.fast)
2 lauan logs (500 gil each sells slow)
A date (1k sells very rarely)
I got a friend of mine in my LS to make those dogwoods into lumber! One broke so I was left with 70k worth of dogwood. I needed one so that was 60k to sell and one for my cage.
All five of my ebony and six dogwood sold under a 5 minutes… (:/)
Leaving me with 70k's worth from 2-3 hours of logging in Caedarva Mire.
Anyway! *ahem* back on track… At this point I have 2/5 of the items needed for synth!
I need a bronze ingot.. Well that's easy now… I went to the metalworks, bought 3 copper ores for 9 gil each and then a tin ore for 139 gil. Fire crystal was from AH, paid 300 gil for it. So I synthed my own bronze ingot for around 450 gil.
3/5 items done for synth!
I bought an earth cluster by the AH for 300 gil (I hate undercutters, I'm going to do a post why soon enough about that… That's got it's own story. :/)
*splits cluster and get's 12 earth crystals*
I now have 4/5 items.
Last item(s) I needed was two rattan lumber or something like that, I could buy 2 of them for around 250 gil in total, I bought 4 of them because I'm aiming to get the glowfly as well later.
Allright… 5/5. Let's make this mofo of a cage. (lack of pictures at this stage, one coming up now )
Oh wait. Woodworking skill level 5? Oh dear. I can't make this!
"ALU MAKE THIS NOWZ" And so he did! In fear of my logging skillz!

Those crickets are awesome! Also, to those people that were just too lazy to get the ingrediants the fun way like this… Bah you boring people! D: Yeah, I did lose 3k exp this way but it sure was fun, that’s what the game is about, no? Besides getting the best gear and showing off of course, and story.
